The graph already shows speed and crank rpm. And the maximum speed in each gear would require it to know the redline rpm off the engine you plan to mount it to, which it doesn't, but you could just look at the graph.

As for the ability to change individual gear ratios I don't think that will be in game, but maybe the ability to adjust the difference between ratios if the devs can find a user friendly way to implement it.

It's been stated a few times individual ratios will not be adjustable. The only gear potentially adjustable would be the final drive.

So will the final drive gear adjustment just be like a top speed vs acceleration slider?

The gearbox designer isn't fully nailed down so the exact way things will work in the end subject to change, but that is overall the one of the ideas that's going around yes.

I think a advanced tab would be good giving people the easy and obviously advanced options when designing a gearbox. This is obviously only going to matter if the guys implement gear ration changes...

heh you can do what the likes of Hyundai do and vastly change the individual gear ratios - 1st and second for good acceleration and 3rd 4th and 5th for good fuel economy - but the trouble is companies that employ that cheap tactic put them in cars that have very poor acceleration and arent good on fuel anyway so the munted ratios just make the problems more evident

Will CVTs be available? As well as 2speed autos (ex. GM powerslide---er, Powerglide), 7 speeds (ex, New Mercedes), 8-12 speeds in ultra luxury cars such as Bentley and Rolls Royce? Thanks!

There was some discussion about CVTs in an earlier thread; I think they were contemplating it but unsure.

Last I heard they wern't going to be in initial release but in an expansion.

The new 8 and 9 speed auto transmissions by ZF would be an interesting addition.
